Privacy: Instant messaging apps

An article on the Consumerist  pointed me to the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s Secure Messaging Scorecard, which reminded me to open a new tag on this blog: privacy.

For now, I’m just going to link you to the resource above and suggest that you consider your options in terms of communicating with your friends, family, and colleagues. In the coming weeks, I’ll provide an overview of the IM tools on the list that I use (and how you can implement them as well), then start talking about other ways that I (and you) can manage data you want to keep private.
